Mason Blanchard-Moore Obituary

A Celebration of Life

MasonSTRONG!!

Mason M. Blanchard-Moore was born on March 29, 2002 to Monica Moore in Cincinnati, OH.  Mason was born premature at 27 weeks gestation.  This was the first day of his life and also the first day Mason became a fighter in life.  Mason stayed in the hospital neonatal unit for three months while growing and thriving before coming home to begin his life journey.  Mason was the first child of three siblings.

At an early age Mason experienced challenges.  From school to sports and all other activities there was no obstacle too large for Mason to conquer.  There was nothing Mason could not or did not want to try doing (the sky was the limit).  He had a love for dancing, music, drawing, cars, amusement rides, football (to name a few) and most of all Mason loved being Mason.  He truly was his biggest fan.  Despite his challenges especially over the last few years from 2016 right foot surgery, 2017 left foot surgery to 2018 being diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma.  Nothing stopped his high spirit, positive attitude, and willingness to keep going and never giving up.  One of his many mottos was “let’s just do it”.

Mason loved life, family and his friends.  Mason graduated from Fairfield High School (sophomore year).  Where he felt at home, surrounded by the school spirit, and always wanted to go to school no matter what.  He never wanted to miss a day and rarely did throughout his entire chemo and radiation treatments.  Mason did not miss a beat.  Always wanted to be around to help out wherever he could.

Mason was positive in every situation.  He also wanted others to be positive as well and would help to encourage with thoughtful or kind words.  Some of his caring ways were reciprocated back to him through his phenomenal family support system; Mason had Dad, Mom, Grandmommy, Great Aunt Tee, Sister (Monique), Brother (Emil), Aunt Ria, Uncle Chris (Rita), Cousins (Rashon, Mariah, Mia), and Christopher (Kiesha) who all spent countless hours helping care for him in his time of need (all became his personal massage therapists).

Mason leaves behind a legacy of memories, laughter, love, and happiness.  Mason would want all of us to remember his smile, good character, respectfulness, and humility.  He never wanted us to worry about him and we know Mason was holding on for “us” maybe more than for himself.  That’s how huge his heart was!  Even until his last day when asked “How are you doing”, Mason would say with a smile “I’m good” and/or a thumbs up.  On May 23, 2019 at the age of 17, Mason was called home to heaven and departed this life we know. We Love you and will miss you forever.

Mason was the beloved son of Eric and Monica Moore; grandparents Marie Smith-Spells, Mae Jones, Kenneth and Mildred Moore; aunts Maria (Rodney) Edwards, Candice (Thomas) Beavers, Tonya Moore, and Anya Blanchard; uncles Chris (Rita) Smith and Kenneth Moore Jr.; his siblings Monique Blanchard-Moore, Emil Moore, Eric DeShawn Moore, Aaron Moore, Erica Moore, and Eric Moore Jr.; cousins Rashon Edwards, Mariah Edwards, Mia Edwards, Zana Smith, Christopher Smith and Adam Gordon; and a host of more cousins, great aunts/uncles, and loved ones left to cherish his memories.
