Harold Green Obituary

Harold Leroy Green was born to the late Harold Chatman and Mother Sarah E. Green on August 13, 1958 in Cincinnati, OH.  He was affectionately nicknamed Poo-Poo.  He departed this life on his brother Ronny’s birthday, Sunday January 12, 2020 at 11:12 in the morning.   When God made him, he broke the mold.  Poo-Poo loved the Lord.  He turned his life around and was baptized July 21, 2019 by Pastor Jacqueline West.

In his early years, he attended Cincinnati Public Schools where he played softballs and flirted with the girls.  Later in life, Poo-Poo had the privilege of meeting the late Mr. James Brown.  From there, he went on to study Mr. Brown’s dance moves until he could dance just like him.  He became his Idol.  He joined a band called Coldfire, where he was one of the lead singers and dancers.  He loved to dance and entertain the community in which he lived, Evanston, OH.  In 1981, Harold married Ms. Joyce King and to that union was born one child named, Dollisa.

Poo-Poo was a go-getter and hustler.  He had numerous jobs including working for Mayflower Trucking Company and diving dumpsters.  Ollie’s was his favorite job. There was no shame in his game (Chasing Dead Presidents).  Poo-Poo was a very energetic, outgoing entertainer and comedian.  He never met a stranger.  Everyone loved him; he had a good heart.  However, if you ever crossed him, he would let you know.

In his leisure time, Poo-Poo loved spending quality time with his mother, family and children.  He also enjoyed skating, fishing with his brother, Voyce, fixing things, dancing and driving his cars. Wherever the wind blew, that’s where he would be.

Harold was preceded in death by his father, Harold Chatman, grandmother, Mary Jackson, grandfather, Mace (Josephine) Green, sister, Veloris Green, brothers, Ronny Green, Ricky and Darryl Chatman.

Harold leaves his precious memories to be cherished by; his loving mother, Sarah E. Green, one son, Dante Thomason; six daughters, Kenya (Barnett) Jordan, Laquanta Jenkins, Dollisa (Maurice) Richardson, Delores Williams, Whitney Kellz and Chaniqua Green; two brothers, Voyce (Stephanie) Green and Donnie (Lucille) Chatman; five sisters, Arlisa Chatman, Renee Bennett, Diane Chatman, Lisa (Orlando) Scales and Victoria Chatman; eleven grandchildren, Dymond, Mikale, Kaniya, Ikeailia, Keila, London, D’Zyarah, Donovan, Andre, Lyric, Deloriana and one on the way; two great grandchildren; one uncle, Richard Green; one aunt, Myra (Toni) Hill of Lexington, KY; two special cousins, Sandra and Carol of Lexington, KY; one Godmother, Marygene Austin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
