Greg "Turk" Williams

Gregory Bryan Williams, also known as “Turk” by many friends, passed away March 19, 2019 in California.  Greg was the youngest child, born July 22, 1957 to John James and Barbara Ann Williams in Middletown, Ohio.  His father, John James Williams preceded Greg in death, June 3, 2008 and mother, Barbara Ann Williams passed away six months ago on September 20, 2018.
Greg’s love of sports started when he played on the Middletown Pee Wee Football league and expanded as a member of his high school football team where he got his nickname, “Turk”.  He was also a Boy Scout and active with United’s youth activities before college.  He was a 1975 graduate of Middletown High School and was an exceptional and popular student. 
After high school graduation, Greg attended Cornell University in Ithaca, New York where he met the love of his life, Michelle Patricia Warner, during college registration.  They eventually moved to Los Angeles, California where they were married July 11, 1981.
Greg met no strangers. He loved people. He was comfortable talking to the janitor of a building or the CEO.  It was not unusual for Greg to anonymously pay for someone’s lunch.
He started gardening later in life and was very proud of his orange and lemon trees.  Greg also loved classic cars and would often share his photos with family. 
Gregory leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Michelle Warner-Williams; sisters, Audrey Wright (Sheldon) and Sadie Ann Williams, special goddaughter, Shanel Edwards, father-in-law, James Warner (Judy), brother-in-law, Todd Warner; nephews, Jelany Williams and Desmond Thomas, niece, Dorionne Whitaker, great nieces Mikayla Williams, Ayanna Hall, Nyla Williams and great nephew Ethan Williams. Greg is also survived by great uncle Jesse Peebles, great aunt Adell Burks, many cousins and many, many friends!
