Emeret “Emma” White, a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend was called to join the Angels on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the age of 80.
Emma was born on May 31, 1938 in Penfield, GA to Emory & Christine (Green) Gaither, their third child. She raised one son, Virgil Gaither, who was the soul of her life. Emma was married to Donald Eugene White. They spend many years enjoying their lives together. Emma worked at Ford Aerospace in California for many years and had many other jobs throughout her life. Emma was a devoted Christian and member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board.
Emma had great passions for sewing, crocheting, bingo, watching golf and tennis. She was known for her infectious smile, compassionate spirit, and quirky “keep it real” opinion. She was a woman of great strength, a female warrior. When she was down, she always got back up. Emma loved her family, she told the best stories that brought laughter and people to tears. She filled her days with people and stuff she loved, she lived life to its fullest. She had a journey that required her to be fierce and sassy!
Emma was preceded in death by her son, Virgil Gaither, her husband Donald Eugene White, her parents Emory & Christine (Green) Gaither, sisters Mamie Lorrine Simms and Katie Mae Champion and brother Albert Westly Gaither.
Emma leaves to cherish her memories her sisters Sarah Preston of Chicago, IL, Josephine Grady of Tracey, CA, Willa Shaw of Hamilton, OH, Christine Bradford of Middletown, OH, Clara Louise Gaither of Middletown, OH, Joan Miller of Brookhaven, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
