Obituary

Elouise Carson was born January 2, 1933 in Alberta, Alabama to the late Clifford and Wilsie Wills. She was one of ten children born to this union.

Her family relocated to Cincinnati, OH when she was a child and joined St. Paul A.M.E. Church. It was there, that Elouise confessed Christ and was baptized at an early age. Later in her walk with Christ, she joined Greater Emmanuel Apostolic Temple where she was a faithful servant in the mass choir as well as the women’s choir. When it came to serving the Lord, Elouise was ready and willing to serve in whatever capacity needed.

Elouise was educated in the Cincinnati Public School System. She was employed with Mary’s Toy factory for many years until the company closed. Later she worked at Kenner’s Toy Factory in addition to part-time positions held with other companies until her retirement.

On December 28, 1951, Elouise joined in holy matrimony to the love of her life, L.C. Carson. The light continued to shine on their love for 46 years. To this union two beautiful daughters were born.

Elouise was a humble, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Whenever a grandmother’s touch was needed, she was there to deliver. Whether she was hosting a sleepover with her famous fried chicken and homemade French fries or taking them to church, she was committed to her family.

Elouise peacefully transitioned from this life into the arms of the Lord on December 30, 2019 in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love of her daughter and caregiver, Dellena.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents and all nine of her siblings. Memories of Elouise will be cherished by her two daughters, Gail McMillan and Dellena Carson; five grandchildren, Sonya (Fredrick) Williams, Crystal McMillan, Warren (Danielle) McMillan, Evangela McMillan and Elliot McMillan; six great grandchildren, Alexis, Breeya, Christian Jeremiah, Arianna, Mya and Journey Grace; one great great granddaughter, Ny’Ari; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Foster and Mattie Wills, a host of nephews, nieces, family, friends and a lifelong friend, Mother Anne Coston.
