Annette Dallas was born on December 26, 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the second child born to the union of Claude Dallas and Jettie Irene Malone Dallas. Annette attended school in Lincoln Heights.
Her work career was primarily based at the Longview State Hospital (The Lewis Center) for more than 30 years. She retired in 1996.
Annette joined Bethlehem Baptist Church of Cincinnati in 1973 under the pastorate Rev. A. H. Johnson. As a servant, she ushered and worked in the kitchen and food pantry.
Those who have preceded her in death include her parents: Claude and Irene Dallas, and two siblings Maxine Dallas Moore and Joan Dallas Strayhorn. Her sister Jane Yett of Cincinnati and her only brother Claude Dallas, Jr. (Sheilah) of Atlanta, GA survive her.
Annette was the mother of three children. Sharon Taylor (Louis) of Houston, TX; Sonya Saunders of Charlotte, NC and Jerome Dallas (Vikki) of Cincinnati. In addition to her children, she is survived by her grandchildren: Ryan Dallas; Louis Taylor III, and Joshua Taylor (Kenyalla); Bryana Saunders of Atlanta, GA, Lou and Alma Saunders of Charlotte, NC and Tyrone Waller of Silver Springs, MD.
The great grandchildren include Louis Taylor IV, Tiaria, Ke’Aira, Jo’Shia and Symphony Taylor.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews from her four siblings as well as numerous cousins.
Annette traveled extensively both before and after her retirement to Mexico, Europe, Jamaica, Greece, Aruba, California, Hawaii and other sites. We have many happy memories of Annette and the rest of the Dallas family. She and her siblings were the first generation of children from the parents who were born on the plantation. What great things God has done!
