Robert Lee Phillips Jr. was born on Sunday July 29, 1962 in Dayton, Ohio. Robert attended Fairview High School until he joined the United States Army at the age of 17. Robert served 8 years in the Army and retired with the rank of Sergeant/E5.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother Wanda L. Davis; his brother, Cornelius Phillips; father, Robert L. Phillips Sr. and stepfather Wilford L. Davis.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Robert Phillips Ill and Montrell Smith; one granddaughter, Mariel Phillips; eight siblings, Shirley and Donna Robinson, Patrice and Michael Phillips, Denise Howard, Corey and Sheree Davenport and Anthony Davis; one niece, Terriseta Phillips; two bonus nieces, Italy Taylor and Billie Barr-Townsend; four nephews, Donte' Phillips and Kenneth, Charles and Brandon White. He is also survived by two great nieces and one great-great niece, YaNise Phillips, DaVae Ingram and MiYori Brown; two great nephews, Devonte and Deontae Phillips. Also mourning his loss is his dear friend, Kelly Johnson and a host of other friends and family.
Robert was very intelligent and loved discussing historical events and listening to 60's and 70's soul music. He was brilliant beyond belief and had masters knowledge of many things from the Bible to history, music, politics and beyond. He was the best big brother, uncle and friend you could ask for. He would do anything for anyone. He had the kindest heart and soul. He was loved by everyone who knew him, and the impression of his love will live on in our hearts forever.
Where life ends, there shall his spiritual journey begin.
