Rachelle Hall better known as the best teacher in Cincinnati was born to William Turner and Pauline Taylor on May 5, 1958 in Cincinnati, OH. Rachelle gave her life to Christ in the late 60’s at Fifth Christian Church. On Tuesday, March 12, 2024 (her mother’s birthday), Rachelle gained her wings.
Through her early years in life, Rachelle expressed a true passion and love for God and her family. Rachelle attended Lions Elementary and Junior High Schools. In 1978, she graduated from Withrow High School. One of her extracurricular classes was the Withrow Choir. To know Rachelle, you knew she could sing and one of her inspirations was the famous Michael Jackson. She loved Micheal Jackson so much that she and her God sisters would put on Jackson Five skits.
During her love for music, she rolled that into her second passion which was early childhood education. Mrs. Rachelle is what she was known as in the daycare world for over 40 years. In those 40 years, she has worked for the YWCA, Norwood Development, Madisonville Daycare Center and Children’s Home of Cincinnati. The love and passion was really there. In the early 90’s, Rachelle decided it was time to work for herself and opened Polly’s Playroom. She did in home daycare for over 20 years. In those 20 years, she touched so many lives and her legacy will continue to live in the hearts of everyone.
Rachelle had a true passion and love for her family. She was a great daughter, sister, grandmother, friend, Mrs. Rachelle and most importantly, Mom. She was preceded in death by her father, William Turner; mother, Pauline Taylor; son, LaGran O. Hall; brother, Abdulam Kadar (Greg Miller) and two special sisters, Gwen Hayden and Aletha Frost McBride.
My mother leaves to mourn: one amazing daughter, Corneilus (Corn) Henry (Rob); sons, Robert Ficklin (Robbie and Jason Hall; five grandchildren, Kwelan Hall, Daylan Hall, Robert Henry IV, Xaire Bell and Breylan Anderson. In this life she gained three extra daughters, Naria Johnson, Florence Marie Robinson and Tramaine Elliott-Clemons; honorary granddaughter, Charlotte Prude; special great nephew, Robert Thomas; two sisters, Ava Smith and Ann Turner; two brothers, Tony Thomas and Eric Thomas and three God siblings, Dino Frost, Mary Frost and Serita Jeffery.
With all the love she gave and had, she will always carry a special place in the hearts of Taylor McBride, Willie McBride, Alya Fant, Kierra Bonner, Kierra Elliott, Paige Davis, and David Brown. I want all of her God children and daycare children to know, my mom loved you!
Mrs. Rachelle was no stranger to her community, the daycare world, her family in Christ at New Mission Baptist Church, New Life Temple. She also leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, daycare kids, family and friends.
