Berdia Minor Obituary

Berdia Mae Trayvick Minor was born on November 12, 1935, in Atmore, Alabama, to parents Elma A. Trayvick and Eddie L. Trayvick Sr. She was called home to be with the Lord on March 8, 2024, in Dayton, Ohio.

Berdia was a true Godly woman and leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family that she truly loved. Berdia was a loving mother to her six children: Charles A. Minor, Robert L. Minor Jr, Yolanda Y. Minor, Timothy M. Minor, Pamela A. Minor, and Terence L. Minor. Berdia was also a cherished sister to her surviving siblings: LC (Arlene)Trayvick, Annie Ree Finklea, Gladys Souder Banks, Earnistine Watts, MaryJean Hall, and Marjorine Trayvick-Canty and sister in law Sharon Trayvick.

Berdia was preceded in death by her parents: Elma A. Trayvick and Eddie L. Trayvick; sons, Robert L. Minor Jr. and Terrence L Minor; husband, Robert Lee Minor Sr. and brothers, Willie “Bill” Trayvick, Eddie L. Trayvick Jr, Sammie J Trayvick, Robert “Dude” Trayvick, and Johnny C Trayvick Sr.

In addition to her children and siblings, Berdia is survived by a host of grandchildren: Aisha, Demetrius, Charles, LeDeya, Reggie, Victor, Tay, Andre, Demetrius, Sierra, David, Shalonda, Aerial, Desmond, Anita, Sarah, Serenity, and Maylin. She also leaves behind 38 great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy as well as her true, devoted friends, Ida Blake, Hawatha Branch, Hestean Edmondson and the Entire Hilltop Community and goddaughters, Angie Wilconson and Myiesha Taylor. 

Berdia attended and graduated from Sinclair Community College as well as Escambia County School of Atmore. She was a retiree from Jones & Jones Company, where she worked as a private secretary. Berdia's commitment to her faith was unwavering, as she was a member of RCMI since 1992 and attended the School of the Bible RCMI. Berdia was a dedicated member of her church serving as the treasurer of the Senior Saints and supporting her grandchildren as a grandmother of the RCMI Drill Team.

Berdia's life was one of faith, love, and family. No matter the day or time her door was always open for her wise words and open arms. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished by her loved ones for years to come. May she rest in peace in the arms of her Heavenly Father.
