Brenda Quinn Obituary

Brenda Elaine Quinn was born in Middletown Ohio on May 4, 1949 and was the only child of Lurvie Acker (Pendergrass) and Tyler Acker. Brenda departed this life on February 16, 2018. She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Brenda was a proud graduate of Middletown High School in 1967. After graduation Brenda was employed by the city of Middletown. She later married Michael L. Scott, and moved to Dayton Ohio and from that union came her only son Wendell Blaine Scott, whom she would always call "Blainey" or "#1".

Brenda relocated to Middletown in 1978 and soon after married James Quinn. While Brenda and James separated, they continued to remain close friends. Brenda returned to work at the City of Middletown where she retired in 2005. After retirement Brenda worked at the Middletown Health Center for six years and in her later years she worked part time for Kroger, near the Town Mall.

Brenda enjoyed watching court tv, wheel of fortune and listening to Golden oldies. She also enjoyed going to dinner and spending time with her son and grandchildren. Brenda enjoyed celebrating her friends and loved ones and was known for buying gifts for them on special occasions. She was also a huge sports fan and really enjoyed the NBA playoffs.

Brenda did not live her life by anyone else's rules, Brenda, did it her way. She was a kind, loving mother, step mother, grandmother and friend. She never met a stranger and will always be remembered by her warm smile and laughter. She was a faithful member of New Era Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and did so up until her health issues took precedence.

Brenda is survived by her loving son Wendell Scott. She is also survived by her grandkids: Sadedra Smiley, Shakira and Shiraz Scott, her great granddaughter Aleedra Smiley and step daughters Stacey Williams and Michelle Scott.

Brenda will be greatly missed by a host of very close friends and family.
